Raja Daud membeli tempat pengirikan dari Araunah dan Yebusit dan membayar harga penuh sehingga situs tersebut sepenuhnya ditebus. Salomo, putra Daud, menyelesaikan pembangunan bait pertama di Gunung ini. Bukit Bait Suci juga diidentifikasi sebagai Gunung Sion oleh Alkitab Ibrani.

Tembok Barat

Tembok Barat awalnya didirikan oleh Herodes Agung untuk memperluas Kuil Yahudi Kedua di Yerusalem. Situs ini dianggap suci karena terhubung dengan Temple Mount. Tembok adalah tempat paling suci yang dapat diakses oleh orang Yahudi untuk ziarah dan doa karena akses ke Temple Mount dibatasi. Ada empat tembok penahan dengan yang paling barat paling dekat dengan bekas candi menjadikannya yang paling suci di luar Gunung Candi utama. Dindingnya memiliki balok batu yang sangat besar di bagian bawahnya, yang diyakini dibangun oleh Herodes. Batu berukuran sedang sedang ditambahkan pada zaman Bani Umayyah. Bagian paling atas tembok selesai selama periode Ottoman. Tembok tersebut terkenal dengan sebutan tembok ratapan. Tembok itu merupakan simbol bagi orang Yahudi bahwa meskipun Yerusalem telah dihancurkan dan kemudian dibangun kembali sembilan kali, tembok itu tetap utuh.

Makam Rachel

Orang-orang Yahudi percaya bahwa situs tersebut adalah tempat pemakaman ibu pemimpin Rachel. Situs suci ini dibangun dengan gaya magma tradisional di pintu masuk utara Kota Betlehem. Sebagai situs tersuci ketiga, makam Rachels adalah salah satu pilar identitas Yahudi-Israel yang paling dikenal. Situs ini dijunjung tinggi oleh orang Yahudi, Kristen, dan Muslim. Peziarah telah mengunjungi situs khusus sejak zaman kuno untuk membayar upeti dan membuat permohonan. Makam itu istimewa dalam agama Yudaisme karena di sanalah Yakub menguburkan istrinya Rachel dan membangun sebuah pilar menurut Kejadian 35:20. Tiang itu diganti dengan bangunan persegi yang ditutupi dengan dua belas batu dengan kubah di atas kuburan. Beberapa prasasti ditulis di dinding dalam berbagai bahasa. Rachel selanjutnya dikutip dalam Alkitab dalam Yeremia 31:14 sebagai seorang ibu yang menangis dan berdoa untuk anak-anaknya. Oleh karena itu, orang-orang Yahudi menganggapnya sebagai penengah.

Gunung Sinai menurut Alkitab

Gunung Sinai dalam Alkitab adalah tempat di mana Tuhan memberikan sepuluh perintah kepada Musa. Perintah-perintah itu membimbing Yudaisme dan kepatuhan terhadapnya adalah yang terpenting. Juga disebut sebagai Sinai atau Horeb, gunung ini disebutkan beberapa kali dalam Alkitab termasuk dalam Kitab Ulangan. Gunung itu suci bagi orang Yahudi karena menurut tradisi Rabinis, Musa tidak hanya diberi Hukum tertulis (Taurat) tetapi juga Hukum Lisan. Di puncak Sinai inilah Tuhan mengungkapkan kepada Musa perintah-perintah dan interpretasinya. Pentingnya peristiwa-peristiwa di Gunung Sinai yang Alkitabiah adalah baik dalam perjanjian maupun isinya.

Gunung Zaitun

Gunung Zaitun pertama kali disebutkan dalam Alkitab dalam 2 Samuel 15:30 mengacu pada pertarungan antara Daud dan Absalom. Gunung memiliki sejarah Yahudi yang kaya dan pentingnya dating ke perjanjian lama. Bukit Zaitun ini berbatasan dengan Kota Tua Yerusalem. Juga dikenal sebagai Gunung Zaitun, situs ini suci bagi orang Yahudi karena menjadi lokasi di mana peristiwa-peristiwa penting terjadi dalam kehidupan Yesus Kristus. Yesus naik ke surga dari situs ini. Bukit Zaitun telah menjadi tempat ibadah umat Kristen sejak dahulu kala. Saat ini, Gunung ini menjadi tempat ziarah bagi penganut agama Yahudi serta Katolik dan Protestan. Gunung Zaitun telah menjadi kuburan Yahudi selama berabad-abad dengan kuburan orang-orang Yahudi terkemuka tergeletak di sana. Gunung membawa sejarah yang sangat kaya raja-raja Alkitab Yahudi dan tokoh-tokoh terkemuka lainnya. Karakter suci Bukit Zaitun diulangi dalam Kitab Yehezkiel 11:23. Gunung ini sampai saat ini merupakan situs suci untuk Pengikut Yudaisme karena hubungannya dengan Maria dan Yesus.
